Our inland marina is taking shape, at about 10 acres of surface area and averaging more than fourteen feet deep, the marina now holds in excess of five million cubic feet of water. Work will be done to open the marina mouth into the lake when it is safe to do so. In the spring additional tree planting will take place along the east edge and barrier installation will occur along the parking area. Other improvements will also take place. We are excited for the coming spring, the opening of our new marina and the opportunity to have our marina lots available for sale. Now is the time to take advantage of our special pricing on select lakefront lots. Have a safe and happy holiday season.

The crew continues to work around the rain showers to finish up the spreading of topsoil around the marina, do the seeding and prepare to flood. Weather permitting the work should be done in the next two weeks and flooding should start shortly thereafter. The gravel for the boat launch has been delivered and we are arranging to bring in the concrete pads that have been patiently waiting for delivery. We will also finish the first stage of tree planting this week which will allow us to begin seeding much of the site. Our second stage of tree planting will start in the fall.

The engineering for the water plant is near completion and should be submitted to the province for approval and permitting early in July. The plant equipment has been secured and testing is planned for later this year. The work on the design of the sewage system has also been started. We continue to conduct discussions and work with the province and the RM on the new phase of Sunset Acres Resort. This phase will offer serviced lots of at least 6,500 sq. ft. for use as permanent cabin and RV type lots. A regular campground area and a large recreational site are also part of the overall design. A copy of the current subdivision design is included in this report. We are taking deposits on lot reservations, just contact our Realtor, Carmen at 306-596-2342.

Now that summer has arrived activity at the lake has increased. Please remember that there is still heavy equipment around the site and we ask that you use caution. Enjoy the sun and the beach.

Sunset Acres Resort is working on a planting design for the first 200 trees which should be arriving on site in the next two weeks. More trees in the planting program will be brought in this fall to further enhance the surrounding area. Work on the base of the boat launch has passed the compaction test and is ready for gravel so that we can bring in the concrete pads. That work should be done in the next two or three weeks. The crew should also be putting down some topsoil in the next couple of weeks to accommodate the tree planting. Getting the final grade of gravel down on Sunset Acres Lane is also on the agenda in the next couple of weeks. Subject to inspection and approval by the provincial authorities, we hope to begin flooding the marina area later in June. To ensure stability of the marina banks, this process will take some time.

We continue to have discussions with the Province and the RM regarding the new subdivision phase of Sunset Acres Resort. Our Engineers have identified a couple of design issues which we are considering that would enhance the overall development. This mainly has to deal with the installation of water, sewer, power and storm water drainage. As such, we are preparing an amendment to our original subdivision application. We need to discuss this with the province and the Rural Municipality, so the plan for our campground and RV area is temporarily on hold. With a new and improved concept design, we will have even more to offer buyers. Sorry to all the people who are waiting on us but we want to provide the best resort we can and it takes time to get in place all the features many of us take for granted.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you want to learn more about our plans and continue to watch our Facebook page for updates. As always, please exercise safety when visiting the site as there is still heavy equipment activity in the area. Looking forward to a busy summer.
