The good weather early in December set us back in excavation of the marina. While we were hoping for the ground to freeze a bit, water kept flowing. However, work continues and we should be cutting the channel into the lake before the end of the month. The marina lots are at building elevation and will be ready for final grading and topsoil in the spring. We have almost completed the balance of the lake front lots and will move to the north pond area after the channel into the lake is finished. It is around the pond area that we are looking to install the smaller building/camping sites. We are looking forward to being able to complete the excavation so our tree planting program can proceed. Once the pond area at the north end is done we can connect the pond and water canal to the marina which will provide direct water access to the lake from every lot in Sunset Acres Resort.
Last fall, the natural gas line was installed in the first phase. We have now retained a respected engineering firm to do a preliminary design for the water treatment plant. It should be ready in the next couple of months. We are waiting until after the provincial election to look closer at the options for a lagoon treatment system. After the marina and pond work are done we will be redoing the interior road for better access. We also continue to look at a possible expansion option to enhance the development.
Once again, in March, we will be attending the spring home shows in Saskatoon and Regina. By the time March comes we should be working at the north end of the site. Our new website should be up and running when you read this update. We welcome your feedback on the new site and don’t forget to check out our Facebook page. We still urge everyone visiting the site to use caution and watch for the heavy equipment moving around.
Once again, we thank all our owners for their patience in putting up with the ongoing construction. We wish all the best to our owners and to their families and to everyone who has expressed an interest in our project.
Happy 2016, come out to visit some time.
